My Story
Before I ever wrote my first poem, my life was already a story of resilience and uncertainty.
I was born at 24 weeks and weighing only 1 pound five ounces. From my very first breath, my life was a fight to survive. Maybe thats where my desire to be heard and seen began.
Years later at the age of 7, I discovered another kind of miracle. Words. More specifically, poetry. It grew from basic rhyming to understanding my own experiences, connecting with others, and eventually helping people find language for emotions they couldn't explain.
Today, as both a healthcare professional and poet, I've witnessed how healing takes many forms. Sometimes it comes through medicine. Sometimes it comes through being seen. And sometimes it begins with finding the right words.
That's why I created Ink Jess Poetry, I believe words have the power to comfort, connect, inspire, and heal. My hope is that whether you arrive here celebrating, grieving, searching, or simply curious, you'll leave feeling a little more seen than when you came.
